According to general history, the name Schmidtendorff started as Schmidt. Therefore, historically, the Schmidt family crest is relative to my family. Schmidt in German loosely translates to Black Smith or Metal Worker. Endorf loosely translates to Village which would mean that my name refers to village blacksmith. If you look at the crest it shows a lion (showing courage) holding a hammer (tool of the blacksmith). It all makes sense now.
Ryann Schmidtendorff
A son, invested in his culture, looking to educate others who are interested in growing their knowledge of a heritage I’m so proud to have come from.
